World Poker Tour Champions

Almost all of the professional players in the world can be seen in the World Poker Tour (WPT) series of tournaments.

Howard "The Professor" Lederer:

Born at New Hampshire in Concord, he is the brother of another professional player, Annie Duke. By 2005, his total earnings from live tournaments was over $2,700, 000. Among his wins are two World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour (WPT) titles. Lederer’s seriousness, analytical approach and an extensive period of wins earned him the nickname of The Professor. He is also the name behind ‘The Secrets of No Limit Hold’em’, an instructional video for poker; apart from those he organizes in his Poker Fantasy Camps.

Erick ‘E-Dog’ Lindgren:

An American professional poker player, he was born on August 11, 1976 in Burney, California. The 2002 Bellagio gave him his first major tournament win, with the next coming ten months later with his first (WPT) title and $1,560,568. Another six months later, he claimed the top prize of a million dollars in the WPT Party Poker Million III cruise.

Daniel ‘The Kid’ Negreanu:

A Canadian native of Toronto, Ontario, he was born on July 26, 1974. As a professional poker player he was among the most successful in poker tournament history with two World Poker Tour (WPT) wins, 2 World Series bracelets and appearances in eleven final tables. He was also the 2004’s World Series of Poker player of the year. His WPT winnings totaled $896,389.

Gavin Smith:

This Canadian professional poker player was born on September 4, 1968 in Guelph, Ontario. He achieved recognition by winning the $1,128,278 first prize in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Mirage Poker Showdown in Las Vegas in May 2005, denying Ted Forrest in the final heads-up duel. His third WPT final table appearance in January 2006 resulted in a 4th place finish. During the fourth season of the tour, he made it to three final tables at $10,000 buy-in WPT events.

Phil Gordon:

Born a Texan in July 6, 1970, his is a story of another rich guy increasing his wealth. A la Paul Phillips, the dot com boom earned him $100 million. Retirement came at 27, following college graduation at the age of 20. Known for being a nice guy the great poker player earned a place in two WPT final tables, and went on to win them both.
